My family is from here, originally but my parents had to flee the first war in 1954. I am born in the south but I always considered myself from Ha Noi. It’s very similar to how it is now in American. The nieces and nephews are born here but they are still Asian, or Asian American.  I have no desire to visit Vietnam again. I’ve been there twice and didn’t like it very much, mostly because of the weather but one day, I like to visit Hanoi with my nieces and nephews.
